HalalNode (HN), a portfolio company of Momentum Works, has signed a partnership with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), to be their cross border ecommerce initiative partner.
What is HN?
HN was launched in 2018 by Momentum Works and a few serial entrepreneurs to alleviate these difficulties faced by purchasers of Halal products.
The global Halal B2B trade today still largely fragmented. By providing a fully integrated online platform, HN links buyers to suppliers directly, but more importantly, reduces (with the aim to eliminate) the excessive paperwork and complex payment processes which had hindered the industry’s growth.
What is MDEC?
Established in 1996, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation Sdn. Bhd. was the Government’s response to the then new concept of “Digital Economy”. Today, the global Digital Economy is estimated to be worth USD3 trillion, and MDEC continues its role to organise and lead Malaysia’s Digital Economy forward.
How will HN work together with MDEC?
MDEC’s national ecommerce strategic roadmap seller adoption programme was created with the goal of increasing ecommerce adoption, growing cross border revenue and improving productivity via digital means.
HN, as a ecommerce platform, will work closely with MDEC to increase seller adoption by raising awareness though jointly organised training programs. In addition, HN will provide supporting marketing, logistics and payment services to enable Malaysian merchants to trade globally.
What will the future hold for this partnership?
Both parties hope to develop this partnership further by working together on a global scale.
Here’s to a fruitful and fulfilling future together! Both HN and MDEC wholeheartedly invite interested partners to reach out to us at [email protected] to find out more.
