We mentioned about the SafeEntry application and its potential use in payment in a previous post. It seems that the adoption of QR scanning is quite evident.

This is the Google Play Store Singapore chart for Apps (as of 17 May 2020):

On iOS App Store, things are slightly different because latest iPhone cameras are equipped with QR scanning functionality (which leads you to Safari).

However, SingPass Mobile, the government app that allows people to access different services through a common authentication framework, still ranks prominently.

So it benefited from the mass adoption of SafeEntry as well (as a way to authenticate the user for SafeEntry):
